Allen Texas-Contemplating a career in the exciting world of sports journalism or broadcasting? The Allen Americans are excited to announce the return of the Junior Reporter Program for the 2011-2012 season.
The Allen Americans Junior Reporter Program provides high school students interested in sports media the opportunity to get an inside look at the organization's Media Relations and Broadcasting departments. Students will get the opportunity to experience the sports world through the eyes of broadcasters, journalists and public relations practitioners. Activities include:
Allen Americans press pass
A seat in the press box during games
Writing game stories or features that may be published on the Americans' website
Pre or post-game interviews with players and coaches
The chance to observe and participate in a live game broadcast
The opportunity to meet with reporters who regularly cover the team
How to Apply:
Eligible students should email a paragraph explaining why they are interested in the program and how they will benefit from the experience. Please include contact information, as well as Parent/Guardian information. Students will be attending home games primarily on Friday and Saturday nights that last until at least 10 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Please keep in mind that while avid Americans fans are encouraged to participate, professional attire and behavior is expected at all times during game attendance.
