All-Stars and Everton FC Take to the Field in Park City

Beckerman, Holden and Ljungberg to join Commissioner at Community Build with MLS W.O.R.K.S. in Salt Lake City Tuesday

On Tuesday from approximately 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., several MLS All-Stars, including Kyle Beckerman, Javier Morales and Freddie Ljungberg will join forces with The Home Depot associates, organizers from KaBOOM! and local volunteers to build a playground in one day at the Northwest Recreation Center in Salt Lake City.

The playground build is part of a partnership between The Home Depot, MLS W.O.R.K.S., Major League Soccer's community outreach initiative, and KaBOOM! designed to build a play space as part of the 14th annual MLS All-Star Game festivities. The improved playground will create a great place to play within walking distance of the more than 3,000 children who attend the Northwest Recreation Center each year.

Keller Flies with Blue Angels; Donovan to Arrive Wednesday; List of 32 All-Stars Released

On Monday, Kasey Keller maintained a prior commitment and fulfilled a personal dream by flying with the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels. The Seattle Sounders FC goalkeeper flew in a two person jet with one of the U.S. Navy's top trained pilots, who performed tricks as part of the 60th annual Seafair, a Seattle summer festival. Keller arrived in Salt Lake City on Monday night and will participate in All-Star training on Tuesday at Rio Tinto Stadium.

LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan in remained in Los Angeles Monday and Tuesday in order to rest and get treatment on a strained left calf muscle. He will join the MLS All-Stars on Wednesday and is expected to be able to play against Everton.

Also today, MLS released the names of all 32 players who are named MLS All-Stars in 2009, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. After the 18-man active roster and inactive First XI selections, the remaining All-Stars are named according to the total weighted voting by MLS players, coaches and GMs, media and fans.

Houston to Host 2010 MLS All-Star Game

Major League Soccer announced today that Houston, home of the two-time MLS Cup champion Dynamo, will host the 2010 MLS All-Star Game next summer. MLS Commissioner Don Garber joined Houston Dynamo President and General Manager Oliver Luck in Park City, Utah to make the announcement.

The city of Houston will host the 15th annual mid-summer showcase with either Robertson Stadium or Reliant Stadium to be selected as the host venue at a later date. The 2010 MLS All-Star Game will be the seventh time the MLS All-Stars will take on a high-profile international club, continuing the tradition of "MLS Takes on the World." The 2010 All-Star Game will take place after the FIFA World Cup, but the date and opponent will be announced by early next year.
