LAKELAND, Fla. â Chris Cerrella stole the puck at the blue line, raced in on Macon goalie Geoff Faulkner, deked left and shot right to seal the overtime victory for the Loggerheads.
Lakeland jumped on the Trax early as Evan Levi scored just 36 seconds into the first period on assists from Curtis Sayler and Garrett Dionne.
Macon answered back on a goal from Ryan Rivard at 6:14 of the first period and the teams headed to the locker room tied at 1-1.
The Loggerheads opened the scoring in the second period as Chris Harper scored at the 2:42 mark on assist from Lenny Bonanno and Cerrella.
The teams would trade goals two more times with Lakeland's goals coming from Joe Seroski and Jim Callahan's team leading 12th of the season.
The Loggerheads were able to hold off a late charge from the Trax and killed off a penalty on Chris Harper that carried over into the extra session. Cerrella's unassisted OT game winner came with just 1:23 remaining in the period.
Lakeland goaltender Carl Poissant stopped 23 Macon shots to earn his first victory of the season.

The Loggerheads face off with the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Orlando Seals, Miami Manatees and the Macon Trax in the WHA2's inaugural season. All games will be broadcast on www.irn.fm.
