Lakeland Loggerheads News Release
LAKELAND, Fla. â As the final curtain fell on the 2003-2004 season, the Lakeland Loggerheads exited the stage with their heads held high. Powered by a pair of hat tricks from Joe Seroski and Chris Cerrella, the Loggerheads hammered the Miami Manatees by a final count of 11-6.
Team Captain Rob Schweyer and Mark Loza each added a pair and Chris Affinaiti notched his first goal of the season for Lakeland.
Loggerheads goaltender and Lakeland native, Conrad Campbell, made 30 saves en route to his first victory as a professional.
The boisterous Lakeland Center crowd of 2,894 rose to their feet in the final minutes to salute their home town team and the Loggerheads players remained on the ice for a final salute to thank the widely acknowledged "best fans in the WHA2" for their tremendous support throughout a tumultuous first season.
"We definitely have the best fans in the league," said team MVP Joe Seroski. "They've been behind us all season long no matter what the score. It was nice to end the season with a big win for them."
Loggerheads 2004-2005 season tickets are on sale now. Call the team office at 863-834-PUCK (7825) for more information.
