Aliyu Ibrahim Named to MLSSoccer.com's Team of the Matchday Roster

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC forward Aliyu Ibrahim was named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of Matchday roster for Matchday 28, the league announced today. The Dynamo defeated Real Salt Lake 3-0 on the road on Saturday.

Ibrahim recorded his second assist of the season in route to midfielder Adalberto "Coco" Carrasquilla's goal in the 75th minute. The two international players played a back-and-forth inside the penalty box to set up the third goal of the match and seal Houston's victory.

Ibrahim created two chances on the night, while winning four of his seven duels, taking back possession three times and winning both of his tackle attempts.

Ten Houston players have now been named to the Team of the Matchday this season, including Ibrahim (Matchday 28), Franco Escobar (Matchday 7, 18 and 27), Corey Baird (Matchday 27), Carrasquilla (Matchday 27), Héctor Herrera (Matchday 4, 15, 18, 20 and 24), forward Thor Úlfarsson (Matchday 20), goalkeeper Steve Clark (Matchday 11), defender Daniel Steres (Matchday 9), forward Amine Bassi (Matchday 7) and midfielder Artur (Matchday 5).

The Dynamo next host the Columbus Crew at Shell Energy Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 30, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.
