
Alicia Thompson to 'Storm the Sound' Next Week

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm today announced the next wave of events for this year's "Stormin' the Sound," an annual team initiative that features Storm player appearances in the Seattle community during the WNBA's offseason. Former Storm forward Alicia Thompson headlines the events for next week which focus on literacy and education.
In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2, a number of events will be happening around the region to celebrate literacy and education particularly among Seattle's youngest readers. Thompson will visit the following events to read with students, sign autographs, participate in Q & A sessions and discuss the importance of reading and education.

The Storm will open the 2006 WNBA season against their Western Conference rival Los Angeles Sparks at KeyArena on Sunday, May 21 at 6 p.m. The following Tuesday, May 23, Seattle will host the Houston Comets at 8 p.m. This game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
