
Alexander Selected 148th by the Anaheim Ducks

The Winnipeg ICE congratulate goaltender Gage Alexander on being selected 148th overall in the 5th round of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks.
Alexander, from Okotoks, Alberta, completed his second season with the ICE playing 9 regular season games during the shortened 2020-2021 WHL season registering a 6-3 record, 2.23 goals against average, .917 save percentage and one shut out. In 16 WHL regular season games, Alexander's record is 7-4-1 with a 2.97 goals against average, .889 save percentage and one shut out. Alexander was selected by the ICE in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft in the 7th round, 133th overall.
Since 1999, 31 members of the ICE have been selected in the NHL Draft led by first rounders Sam Reinhart (2nd 2014 Buffalo), Dan Blackburn (10th 2001 NY Rangers), Peyton Krebs (17th 2019 Vegas), Carson Lambos (26th 2021 Minnesota) and Steve McCarthy (23rd 1999 Chicago).
Alexander joins defenseman Carson Lambos as 2021 NHL Draft picks so far this weekend. Lambos was selected in the 1st round, 26th overall by the Minnesota Wild last night.
