Alex Morrell Named USL League One Player of the Week

Greenville, SC - USL League One announced on Tuesday that Greenville Triumph SC forward Alex Morrell has been voted the League One Player of the Week for Week 1 of the 2020 season.

Morrell made an immediate impact in his debut for the 2019 League One Finalists, scoring the opening goal and tallying an assist in a 2-0 victory on the road against Fort Lauderdale CF on Saturday night. Morrell has now scored the opening goal of the League One season in the league's first two years, having also scored the first goal in league history for South Georgia Tormenta FC in 2019 against his current club.

Week 2 of the USL League One season kicks off this weekend, with the Triumph taking on the Richmond Kickers at home on Saturday, July 25 at 7pm. This match will be closed to the public, but fans can watch all the action on ESPN+.
