Jackson Stadium wasn't named after Alex Jackson. But after the week he just had, we had to ask and make sure.
Just kidding ... sort of.
The Owlz leadoff man logged what could be the best five-game stretch of his career. As a result, he earned a PBL Player of the Week nod for the ninth week of the season.
His double-take-inducing numbers from the week: 14-for-24, two doubles, two triples, three homers, nine RBI, eight runs scored, and four stolen bases.
Reminder ... took Action Jackson all of five games to do that damage.
With that stellar stat line, he leads the entire PBL in a number of categories to kick off this second half. The toolsy Texan tops the league in batting average (.583), hits (14), triples (two ... which actually ties teammate Tim Bouchard for the league lead), stolen bases (four), and slugging percentage (1.208) one week through half number two.
His next chance to build on the balling he's done so far is Tuesday. Jackson's Owlz welcome the invading Billings Mustangs for a six-game series, starting with a 4:05 p.m. first pitch from Jackson Field.
