Alex Callens Claims June Award

New York City FC News Release

New York City Football Club defender Alex Callens has collected the Etihad Player of the Month award for June.

The 30-year-old from Callao, Peru, continues to be a central figure for NYCFC anchoring the team's backline with both strength and composure.

In June, Callens was again a mainstay of the side as he played every minute in MLS and helped the team collect two points from three testing encounters.

His combination of defensive play and willingness to bring the ball out from the back makes him one of the league's most well-rounded defenders, and that fact has not gone unnoticed among supporters as he collects the award for the third time this season.

Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Alex on his award.
