GREENVILLE _ Cory Aldridge hit two fifth-inning home runs and Matt Belisle pitched eight strong innings Sunday, leading the Greenville Braves to an 11-1 Southern League victory over the Jacksonville Suns.

The G-Braves, bouncing back from Saturday's 9-0 loss, blew the game open with an 8-run outburst in the fifth, when Aldridge opened the inning with a home run and added a two-run blast.

Belisle (2-5) dominated Jacksonville hitters, yielding three hits and no walks. He struck out 10 batters and threw just 85 pitches as he earned his first win since April 9.

Greenville (19-23), which had managed 17 hits in the first three games of the series, collected 13 hits off three Suns pitchers. Seven of the hits were extra-base blows as the G-Braves overcame an early triple play to gain a split in the 4-game series.

The G-Braves, who begin a 4-game series with Huntsville Monday, chased Jacksonville starter Tommy Farmer (2-3) from the mound with five straight hits in the fifth. Greenville finished the inning with eight hits and a 10-run lead.

James Jurries and Jason Fitzgerald each had two hits for the G-Braves. The G-Braves struck for two runs in the fourth, when Jason Fitzgerald led off the inning with a home run and Kelly Johnson bounced a two-out RBI triple, giving Greenville a 3-1 lead.

Greenville took a 1-0 lead in the third inning, when Johnson scored from second on a two-out single by Jurries. Jesus Feliciano's first home run of the season made it 1-1 in the top of the fourth.

The G-Braves were victims of a triple play in the second inning, after Fitzgerald singled and Langerhans walked. With runners in motion, Richard Lewis lined a 1-2 pitch to second baseman Victor Diaz, who stepped on the bag to retire Fitzgerald and threw to first to retire Langerhans.

The G-Braves face West Division-leading Huntsville, an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, at 7:15 p.m. Monday.
