Albany Devils Sign Corbin McPherson

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Devils today signed defenseman Corbin McPherson to an amateur tryout agreement. The announcement was made by Albany General Manager Chris Lamoriello.

McPherson, 23, was drafted in the third round (87th overall) by New Jersey during the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He joins Albany after spending the last four years with Colgate University of ECAC Hockey. The 6-5, 215-lb. defenseman registered four goals and six assists for 10 points in 39 games while serving as a captain during his senior campaign. Spanning four seasons, he accumulated 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points in 152 games. McPherson helped Colgate to the ECAC Hockey Championship Weekend in 2011 and 2012.

Prior to his time at Colgate, the Folsom, Calif. native spent two seasons with Cowichan Valley of the BCHL. He amassed seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in 100 outings.
