AirHogs Fall to RailRoaders in Opener

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Texas AirHogs dropped the series opener to the Cleburne RailRoaders 16-0 Tuesday evening. Stewart Ijames reached base three times in the loss.

The AirHogs also dropped the series opener in the teams' July 2-4 series. The AirHogs went on to win the next two and take the series. The teams continue their current set tomorrow at 7:05.

Zhang Haonan (0-2) took the loss for the AirHogs. The 19-year-old from Henan, China was tagged for six runs over 1.1 innings. Reliever Conner Camacho limited the RailRoaders to three runs over 3.2 innings. Cleburne was paced by Hunter Clanin, who finished with seven RBIs. He and Alex Polston each went deep, with Clanin's 8th inning grand slam capping a big night.

Stewart Ijames reached with two walks and a single. Greg Golson doubled. The AirHogs were outhit 13-2. Cleburne starter Jared Mortensen (4-5) and relievers Jesus Sanchez and John Hayes combined for the RailRoaders' second no-hitter. Mortensen (a 2017 AirHog) went five, walking four and striking out three.

Texas (20-60) and Cleburne (27-54) continue the series Wednesday at 7:05. LHP Sean Stutzman (0-2, 10.47 ERA) is expected to start for the AirHogs. RHP Patrick Mincey (0-9, 6.11 ERA) is expected to start for the RailRoaders. A live broadcast of the game will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs and americanassociationbaseball.tv.
