
Aigles Pitching Holds Down Lemurs

Laredo, TX - The Trois-Rivieres Aigles (10-10) saw their starting pitcher Ryan Bollinger (4-0) give up two runs through six innings of work with seven strikeouts as he pitches his team to an 8-2 victory over the Laredo Lemurs (11-12) on Monday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.
After Bollinger was given a one run lead in the top of the first he gave up one of two runs in the bottom of the first inning to tie the score. After that, he took over on the mound and shut down the Lemurs through the next three innings and allowed just one more run in the fifth when Abel Nieves drove in Luke Bailey, who earned a leadoff walk.
On the night, Bollinger went six innings, giving up two runs on six hits with one walk and seven strikeouts to earn his fourth victory of the season.
The Aigles would scatter eight runs over five different innings. Aigles center fielder Steve Brown led the way with three hits, a run scored and one RBI. Jon Smith also pitched in with a double, two singles, a run scored and two RBI's.
Lemurs' starter Greg Holle (1-4) took the loss. He got off to a rough start, giving up five runs in the first three innings of play. Holle would end the night going five innings and giving up five runs on eight hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
The Lemurs will play the Aigles at 7:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday before they hit the road for a seven game trip.
