Aggies Join Brazos Valley Bombers

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Brazos Valley Bombers are pleased to announce the addition of three members of the Aggie baseball squad to the Bombers 2021 summer roster.

The first Aggie swapping his maroon and white for navy and gold is sophomore Brett Minnich. As a right fielder for Texas A&M, Minnich appeared in 41 games and boasted an impressive .967 fielding percentage. The 6-foot-5 monster also acts as a powerhouse behind the plate, recording 21 hits to drive in 11 runs. To further boost his resume, Minnich has never played a collegiate season without multiple home runs.

Next up to bat is junior Taylor Smith. The Aggie catcher is coming into the summer on fire following a colossal spring season where he notched 20 runs, 18 RBI and seven home runs. Smith has never made a single error in the field with the Aggies, landing him a perfect 1.000 ERA. As a returning Bomber, Smith is looking for another TCL Championship for the 2021 season.

Zane Schmidt fills in the third slot as a designated hitter on the Bombers roster. In his two years with the Aggies, Schmidt has appeared in 42 games, recording 19 hits and 19 RBI. Schmidt's most impressive collegiate showing came during the 2021 Round Rock Classic tournament where he posted a .566 slugging percentage and .538 on-base percentage, landing him the title of Most Valuable Player for the weekend.
