Louisville Fire News Release
The arenafootball2 league will reach a milestone this weekend when the league surpasses the five million mark in total attendance. The league has planned a five millionth fan celebration at every home game this week. The Fire will host Quad City this Saturday and one lucky fan will be picked as the five millionth fan.
The lucky fan will receive a prize pack including a commemorative jersey signifying the five millionth fan, Fire merchandise, a special introduction during the pre-game ceremonies and other prizes. In honor of the af2 hitting this landmark the league has adopted the slogan Five Years, Five Million Reasons. The league is also celebrating its fifth year of play.
"The league hitting this mark is a testament to the popularity of arena football. We are honored and excited to be a part of the celebration this weekend," said Fire General Manager Dave Arnold, who has been with the team since its inception in 2001.
The Fire (6-2) and the Steamwheelers (6-2) will kickoff at 7:30 Saturday night. The first 1,500 kids 14 and under will receive a Fire replica jersey. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling (502) 368-0009, by visiting the Freedom Hall box office or at Ticketmaster.com.
