Aeros Single-Game Tickets Available Online Friday

(AKRON, OHIO) March 13, 2013 - The Akron Aeros announced today single-game tickets will go on sale online starting Friday morning at 10 a.m. on www.akronaeros.com. Tickets range from $9 for adults, $8 for children 12 and under or adults 60 and over, and $5 for general admission bleacher seats.

Single-game tickets can be purchased over the phone and in-person starting the final week in March at Canal Park's box office and the official team store, Infield Outfitters. Both the box office and Infield Outfitters will be open from Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Saturdays, Infield Outfitters will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

"We are extremely excited for the start of the 2013 season. We can't wait to welcome back the families, kids, and die-hard baseball fans to Canal Park so they can experience all of the great changes. From the new HD video boards and jam-packed promotional calendar, to the new concessions items and amazing young talent on the field, there will be something for everyone-- at an affordable price. It really is a 'whole new ballgame,'" said Aeros' General Manager Jim Pfander.

Opening Night is on Thursday, April 4 at 6:35 p.m., only 22 days away. It will feature a "Baseball is Back"-themed fireworks celebration, a magnet schedule giveaway to all fans sponsored by Albert Guarnieri and Co., and the ever-popular "Thisty Thursday" promotion, which includes $1 beer and soft drink specials. Prior to the game, the Aeros will honor the 2012 Eastern League Championship team with a special championship ring and banner ceremony.

There will also be an exciting South Main Street Festival from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. when South Main Street will be closed in front of Canal Park from State St. to Buchtel Ave. There will be live music by "The Juke Hounds," inflatable play items for kids, live entertainment such as a fire breather, a world-champion juggler, stilt walkers, a balloon artist, face painters and more, to set the stage for an unforgettable Opening Night.

SPECIAL AUDITIONS AND PROMOTIONS

Mascot Auditions: The Aeros are holding mascot auditions on Tuesday, March 19 at Canal Park. Candidates are asked to arrive early so they can start promptly at 6 p.m. Candidates will have a chance to be one of the Aeros' two official mascots-"Orbit" the space cat and "Homer" the inflatable pigeon. Public Address Announcer Auditions: The Aeros are also hosting public address announcer auditions at Canal Park on Wednesday, March 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be set reads for each candidate. Candidates can enter through the Administrative Office entrance located at 300 S. Main St. Resumes or information about prior public address experience will be accepted. Media Madness Bobblehead Election: The Aeros are holding a "Media Madness Bobblehead Election" to determine the media personalities who will become bobblehead giveaways during the three home Saturdays in June. A winner will be selected in the categories of television, radio, and print.

Through the end of March, fans can nominate their favorite media member in each of the three categories by emailing medianoms@akronaeros.com. In April, the voting will begin to cut the list down to a final three in each category and the voting in May will determine who the winners are. Each winning media member will be announced one week prior to their category's bobblehead night. More information is available on www.akronaeros.com.

The Aeros are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. In the just-completed 2012 season, the Aeros had the best regular-season record in all of Double-A baseball and won the Eastern League Championship for the fourth time in team history. The team begins its 17th season in Akron on April 4, 2013, with a 6:35 pm game against the Binghamton Mets at Canal Park.
