Aeros lose to Barons

OKLAHOMA CITY --- Joel Broda and Jon DiSalvatore each scored for the Houston Aeros in a 5-2 loss to the Oklahoma City Barons Friday night at the Cox Convention Center.

Matt Hackett made 25 saves for the Aeros, who are now 21-10-3-9 and remain in second place in the AHL's West Division.

Broda scored his ninth goal of the season at 8 minutes in the third period to cut Oklahoma City's lead to 4-1, and DiSalvatore followed with his 13th goal of the season with a power play goal three minutes later to make it 4-2.

Mark Arcobello, however, scored an empty net goal for his second goal of the night at 17:53 in the third to make it 5-2.

Josh Green and Arcobello each scored in the first period, and Teemu Hartikainen and Hunter Tremblay upped the lead to 4-0 with goals in the second period.

Yann Danis made 28 saves for the Barons.

Houston heads to San Antonio to face the San Antonio Rampage Saturday at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center. The Aeros return home Thursday to face the Texas Stars at 7:05 p.m. at Toyota Center.
