
Admirals Sign Ivanans

Milwaukee Admirals Executive Vice President/General Manager Phil Wittliff announced today that the club has signed defenseman Raitis Ivanans (RITE-us ee-VANN-us) to an American Hockey League contract.
Ivanans (6-4, 245lbs.) collected 38 penalty minutes including six major penalties in 15 games. He is still in search of his first point as an Admiral. He scored six points (4g-2a) while earning 208 penalty minutes in 50 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the United Hockey League in 2002-03
The Riga, Latvia native made his AHL debut with the Hershey Bears when he hit the ice for two games in the 2000-01 season. Also that season, Ivanans scored 14 points (4g-10a) and accumulated 270 penalty minutes in 66 games for the New Haven Knights (UHL).
The Admirals open the 2003-04 season on Friday, October 10th when they take on the Toronto Roadrunners at the Bradley Center.
