
Admirals Playoff Run Foiled by Bears

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - For the second straight year, the Hershey Bears defeated the Admirals in the playoffs, winning their Western Conference Quarterfinals series three games to one. Following Norfolk's 4-1 victory in Game 1, Hershey outscored the Blue and Gold 8-4 over the next three contests to advance to the Conference Semifinals. The decisive game was a 2-1 win in double overtime on Friday, April 19 on the Bears' home ice.

TEAM NOTEBOOK
* The Chicago Blackhawks recalled 10 players from the Admirals today. They are: goaltender Michael Leighton; defensemen Kent Huskins, Steve McCarthy, and Dmitri Tolkunov; and forwards Ajay Baines, Casey Hankinson, Matt Henderson, Mike Peluso, Igor Radulov and Peter White.
* With 1+2=3 points against Hershey, Casey Hankinson became the Admirals' all-time leader in post-season goals (six) and points (12).
* In two AHL seasons, Norfolk has a record of 11-4-1-2 against Hershey during the regular season, but is just 2-7 against the Bears in post-season play.
* Jim Campbell (3+1=4 points) and Vern Fiddler (1+3=4 points) finished as the highest scoring Admirals in their playoff series with Hershey.
* The double overtime contest against the Bears on April 19 marked the fourth post-season overtime game in Norfolk's history, the first one to enter a second overtime period. The Admirals are 2-2 all-time in overtime playoff games.
