Admirals Players, President to Shave their Heads for ACS
March 31, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI - Milwaukee Admirals players Oren Eizenman, Nick Spaling, Kelsey Wilson, and Scott Ford and team president Jon Greenberg will all shave their heads to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The deed will take place following the team's final regular season game on Friday, April 10th at the Bradley Center against the Chicago Wolves.
Fans will have the opportunity to both cut and shave the hair of the participants. For each donation of $20, fans can cut one piece of hair off the participant of their choosing, however there is a limit of 25 cuts per player. When all of the cuts are done one lucky fan for each player will have the opportunity to then shave their head. There will be a silent auction at the DigiCopy Information Table located outside section 225 at each of the Admirals three remaining home games. The auction will end with five minutes to go in the second intermission at the game on April 10th.
SportClips will provide all of the tools and equipment necessary to complete the head shaving and also to oversee the process.
In addition to the head shaving, the Admirals will raise money from the specialty hero jerseys that the team will wear on Friday, April 3rd and Sunday, April 5th. At those games all of the player's jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction and a portion of the proceeds from Wilson's, Ford's, Eizenman's, and Spaling's jerseys will be donated to the ACS as well.
Plus, the American Cancer Society and the Admirals have organized a group outing for anyone who wants to buy tickets for the game on April 10th. Simply call John W. Bitter at the Admirals office at (414) 227-0829 or email him at jbitter@milwaukeeadmirals.com and tell him you want to be part of the ACS fundraiser. The tickets are just $16 for adults and $11 for kids and $4 from each adult ticket and $2 from each kids ticket will be donated back to ACS. Orders must be received 24 hours in advance.
