Admirals Host Game 6 Friday Night
April 22, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-Down by three goals on two separate occasions to Chicago, the Milwaukee Admirals season looked to be in jeopardy on Wednesday night before the team staged a furious and historic comeback over the final 23 minutes, scoring the game's final four goals to take a 5-4 victory and bring the series back to the Bradley Center for game 6 on Friday, April 23 at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center.
Never before in the 30 seasons that the Admirals have qualified for the playoffs have they come back from a three-goal deficit to win a game in the post-season. In addition, it was just the 13th time in franchise history that they have won a playoff game when trailing after two periods of play.
Right wing Chris Mueller provided the heroics for Milwaukee, scoring the game-winning goal on the power-play with just 1:55 left in the game. The Michigan State alum was also the catalyst for the Ads first goal of the night, working his way through three checks and getting the puck deep in the Chicago zone before Andreas Thuresson scored on a second period slapshot. Mueller has scored both of the game-winning goals for the Admirals this series.
In addition, defenseman Jon Blum and Alexander Sulzer each assisted on the game-winning and game-tying goals for Milwaukee, while Mark Santorelli and Ben Guite's goals just 58 seconds apart at the end of the second period gave the Admirals the momentum they need heading into the third.
