Admirals Add Former ECHL All-Star Tarasuk

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, have agreed to terms with defensemen Steven Tarasuk, Head Coach Rod Aldoff announced on Thursday.
Tarasuk, 26, spent last season with STS Sanok of the Polish Hockey League and tallied eight points in 13 games.
"Steven comes to us with high recommendation from those who are familiar with his work," Aldoff said of the latest addition. "Not only is he going to add depth to our blue line, but he's a great defensemen who's going to add quite a bit of skill too."
The 5'10" - 181 lbs. defensemen turned pro at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season after registering 67 points in 67 games with the London Knights in his final year of major junior hockey. Since then, Tarasuk has logged 236 ECHL games, most recently with the Allen Americans, Brampton Beast, and Missouri Mavericks during the 2014-15 season.
"This young man is coming in determined to have successful season and I'm thrilled about that. He's yet another member of this roster who I look forward to coaching this season," the Admirals new head coach continued.
Aside from his time in the ECHL, Tarasuk has a few games of American Hockey League experience, along with stints in Germany, Italy, and Poland. During the 2010-11 season, he was named an ECHL All-Star as a member of the Kalamazoo Wings.
The Admirals begin the 2016-17 season on Friday, October 14th against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Norfolk Scope.
