Adjei, Jara Named to USL League One Team of the Week

STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC captain Pablo Jara and midfielder Kingsford Adjei were named to USL League One's Team of the Week for Week Eleven after being paramount in South Georgia's 1-1 draw on Saturday night against Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC.

Goalkeeper Pablo Jara helped keep the momentum alive in Colorado with a crucial penalty save in the first half, keeping the score level at 0-0. Although a last-minute goal from the Hailstorm helped the home side retain a point, Jara was able to lead his team to a solid performance in their first time in Colorado.

Kingsford Adjei lit up the pitch last Saturday in Greely, Colorado, with no Hailstorm being able to stop Adjei through the 90 minutes. Adjei appeared on the goal sheet for the second time this season following a speedy run, beating defenders and the goalkeeper. Adjei played the entire match and helped defensively with four recoveries and two fouls won.

Following Saturday's result, Tormenta FC returns to Erk Russell Park to take on Forward Madison on Sunday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m. ET. Tormenta FC will celebrate and honor Juneteenth, with the theme night presented by Davis Bozeman Johnson Law.
