Erie Otters News Release

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League are proud to announce that defenseman *Adam Pelech* has been selected to Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament, set to take place in the Czech Republic and Slovakia August 8-13.

Pelech was one of 12 Ontario Hockey League players to make the 22-man squad after participating in a selection camp with 40 other players last weekend in Calgary.

In his rookie year, Pelech collected a goal and 12 assists in 65 games with the Otters. He also earned a +14 rating, best among Otters newcomers. A second round pick of the Otters in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, he won a gold medal with Team Ontario at the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

The native of Toronto was selected as the Rookie of the Year in the Otters Summer Awards Banquet in June. He also appeared on NHL Central Scouting's Futures List for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Pelech will hope to match what former Otter *Ryan O'Reilly* did for Canada in the same tournament in 2008, when O'Reilly led his country to a gold medal.
