(Vancouver) Following a solid finish to the regular season, BC Lions linebacker Adam Bighill has been named the CFL's Defensive Player of the Month for October.

For Bighill, the monthly honour caps a fantastic regular season that also saw him pull down four Player of the Week awards. In the final five games of the year, Adam notched 27 defensive tackles, five sacks and an interception. The lofty numbers cemented him as the Lions' leading tackler with 104 stops on the season including a team-best seven tackles for a loss.

His interception in last Saturday's 17-6 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders also tied him with teammate Ryan Phillips for the club lead with four picks on the season.

The BC Lions await the winner of the Western Semi-Final between the Calgary Stampeders and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Lions host the Western Final on Sunday, November 18th at 1:30 pm (gates at 12:00 pm). Tickets are available by calling 1.855.GO.LIONS or ticketmaster.ca.
