Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON, February 12th, 2014)- The Peterborough Petes and Five Counties Children's Centre are excited to announce the details of the game on Family Day Monday, February 17th. Puck drop is set for 2:05pm, making Monday's tilt against the North Bay Battalion the only afternoon home game of the Petes season. ServiceMaster Restore of Peterborough is the game's presenting sponsor.

The Peterborough Memorial Centre doors will open at 1pm for the Family Day game, at which point members of Peterborough Fire Services will begin collecting funds for Five Counties at each arena entrance. Five Counties Children's Centre invites fans to come to the information booths in the North Lobby to learn more about the Centre's services. Chuck-a-pucks will also be available for purchase from Five Counties volunteers, at a cost of one puck for $3 or two pucks for $5. The chuck-a-puck will occur at the beginning of the second intermission, and fans can win one of five prizes including a $50 Rickys Gift Card, a $30 Canadian Tire Gift Card, a $20 Canadian Tire Gift Card, or a Crayola Gift Pack.

A face painter will be set up in the East Lobby from 1pm to 2:05 p.m. Additionally, the only "Skate with the Petes" of the season will take place for one hour immediately following the game. Petes players will be on the ice distributing player cards and signing autographs, and any fans with a valid ticket to the game and ice skates are invited to take part in the event.

Prior to the game, a Five Counties graduate along with Scott Dickey from ServiceMaster, the presenting sponsor, will take part in a ceremonial puck drop with Peterborough and North Bay team captains. Five Counties volunteers will be the recipients of the Andritz Hydro Community Leader tickets.

Funds raised will support the Five Counties Children's Centre. As quoted by one of the parents receiving help, "The therapists at Five Counties give hope - hope to families that despair for their children." We need your help to give hope and support to children with disabilities and their families.

Fans are encouraged to purchase discounted $16 tickets to the game (regular bowl only, while supplies last) using promo code "5Counties", from which the Petes will donate $4 directly to Five Counties Children's Centre. Fans can use the "5Counties" code online at tickets.memorialcentre.ca, by calling (705) 743-3561, or in person at the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office.
