San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, TX - On their first day back at home the Colts made a flurry of moves to bolster their roster.

Slugging designated hitter Jason Landreth was activated from the inactive list after spening the last five days resting as sore knee and hamstring. He missed the final game of the Laredo series and the entire four-game set in Laredo. Landreth is a welcome addition as he leads the team in batting (.446), slugging (0.785), and on-base percentage (0.538) with three homers and 20 RBI.

To make room for Landreth, the Colts released outfielder/second-baseman John Wagle. In 21 games, Wagle batted .256 with no homers and nine RBI. He split time primarily between second base and leftfield.

The Colts also released third-baseman Michael Pettibone. Pettibone, who made the team through its open tryout camp in May, had three homers and 14 RBI in 22 games played. He was the Colts' everyday third baseman during his time in San Angelo.

In other news, the Colts acquired third baseman Landon Camp from the Shreveport-Bossier Captains of the American Association in exchange for a player to be named. Camp, who played collegiately at Oklahoma City University, has played for Windy City of the Frontier League and Shrevepor-Bossier of the American Association this season registering 23 total at-bats and two RBI. While in college, the Edmond, OK native set a school-record with 65 career homers and had a .350 career average. The Colts open a four-game series with the Rio Grande Valley White Wings tonight at Foster Field. First pitch is at 7:05. The game will be the first of an eight-game in nine-day homestand for the Colts. The broadcast of the game can be heard on 1260 KKSA with the Kemps pregame show getting things underway at 6:50.
