Aces Silenced in Series Opening Loss to Dodgers

Oklahoma City, OK - The Reno Aces (31-21) recorded just two singles in a 7-0 loss to the Oklahoma City Dodgers (38-14) Tuesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers flashed their league leading pitching staff in game one of a pivotal series. Reno's otherwise excellent offense had just two singles from P.J. Higgins and Buddy Kennedy. Kennedy extended his hitting streak to 16 games with the knock.

Four Oklahoma City pitchers combined for nine scoreless innings with just one walk and seven strikeouts. The Aces have been shut out only twice in 52 games, with the last time coming nearly two months ago in Tacoma.

Tyler Ferguson and Raffi Vizcaíno combined for 2 2/3 scoreless innings out of the Aces bullpen. Game two of the six-game series is Wednesday night at 5:05 p.m. PT with Konnor Pilkington facing off against Robbie Erlin.

Following their trip to Oklahoma City, the Aces will return to Greater Nevada Field on Tuesday, June 6th. In a six-game series, they will face the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
