Alexandria, LA; May 31, 2006 - The Alexandria Aces of United League Baseball (ULB) announced Wednesday morning they have signed rookie righthander Lazaro Pineiro.
The 22-year-old Pineiro, who stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 165 pounds, attended baseball powerhouse Miami-Dade Community College and was recently released by the Pensacola Pelicans of the independent American Association.
The Aces play a 10:35 a.m. game against Laredo Wednesday morning and will continue a six-game homestand Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Broncos on Louisiana Lottery Shirt Off Our Back Night. The homestand continues Friday-Sunday against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings.
