ALEXANDRIA- The Texas Thunder capitalized on receiving seven walks, four hit batsmen, and five errors to defeat the Alexandria Aces, 10-6, Sunday night at Bringhurst Field.
The Thunder scored five times in the top of the ninth on just two hits off Aces' righthander Gabe Grammer. Entering in a 5-5 tie, Grammer hit the first two batters of the game, then bobbled a sacrifice attempt before walking Jacinto Cipriota and Jacob Douglas with the bases loaded.
Lucas Nakandakarde followed with a two-run single to right, and after Ryan Waters relieved him, Cody Bishop added a sacrifice fly to conclude the scoring of Texas' big inning.
The Aces received 11 walks in the game but left 11 men on base.
Jacob Douglas, who started the game at first base, won the game in relief for the Thunder (3-1), but allowed a home run to Jason Thomas in the ninth.
The Aces (1-3) next host the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings (1-3) Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. Lefty Jon Jones (1-0) pitches for the Aces.
