After Friday's deflating finish, the Aces came out an inspired club and took an immediate lead. SAhawn Skelly scored his first of the night at 3:22 on a deflection of a Steve Ward shot from the right point that skipped over fallen Las Vegas netminder, Joe Fallon. The Aces then made it 2-0 when Skelly redirected another Ward shot on a power play at 13:40. Skelly's second goal was his fourth in three games against the Wranglers and gave him four in his last three overall. The Wranglers got on the board and cut the Aces lead in half when Eric Lampe scored on a wraparound at 18:32 to make it 2-1 Aces at first intermission. Alaska outshot Las Vegas 12-9 in the opening period.

The Wranglers controlled play in the second period, outshooting the Aces 18-8 and scoring the only goal of the period. Adam Huxley scored his second goal of the season from the inside of the left circle at 5:22 to make it 2-2. Las Vegas had numerous additional chances in the period, but Aces goaltender Mark Guggenberger was outstanding making 17 saves in the period, and keeping the game tied heading into the third.

Alaska outshot Las Vegas 9-2 in a scoreless third period, and the game went to overtime. In OT the Aces received just their second power play, but could not convert, and then Francis squeezed a puck into the net from the right corner boards that snuck through Guggenberger and gave Las Vegas their second straight OT win over Alaska. The Aces never trailed at any point all weekend in Vegas, but went 0-0-2 on the trip.

Mark Guggenberger (16-6-4) made 28 saves on 31 shots in the OT loss. Joe Fallon (15-12-5) made 27 saves on 29 shots in the win. The Aces went 1-2 on the power play and the Wranglers were 0-4. Alaska was outshot by Las Vegas 31-29 in the game.

The Aces return home for a three-game weekend against the Stockton Thunder on Friday, February 8th. Tickets are on sale now. All Aces games can be heard on NewsTalk 103.7FM and 750AM KFQD.
