March 1, 2024 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
It was a busy week for the FC Cincinnati Academy as all age groups were in action this past Saturday, including the U13s and U14s who played their first matches of the new year. It was a weekend of road trips for the Young Garys with all teams playing away from Mercy Health Training Center.
The U13s split results in Brentwood, Tennessee in a 2-0 win and 3-1 loss to Nashville SC. Gabriel Jones and Joey Pasquarello found the back of the net in the win, while Ben Saunders kept a clean sheet for the Young Garys. Gio Garcia was on the scoresheet in the second match with Donovan Bazile assisting on the goal.
Gaël Huguent shined for the U14s scoring two goals and tallying three assists in two wins for the Young Garys. Huguent scored one goal and assisted three times in the first match, a 4-1 result. LJ Born, Leo Rose and Oli Beabout all scored in the first meeting. The second match saw Huguent score the one and only goal with the goalkeeper duo of Zach Crider and Grey Meyer holding Nashville scoreless in the 1-0 result.
The U15s and U17s visited the Columbus Crew at Historic Crew Stadium, playing to a 3-2 loss and 3-3 draw, respectively. Chance Malilo notched a brace for the U15s with Christian Ruiz and Jared Cardenas tallying assists, while the U17s saw three different players score goals as Stefan Chirila, Brandon Bent and Oma Ileleji found the back of the net.
The U19s played their second exhibition match in as many weeks to close out the action against the University of Indianapolis. Chris Nezianya scored the Young Garys only goal of the match in a 1-1 draw.
The U19s kick off this weekend's matches against Southern Indiana FC at MHTC on March 2. The U13s and U14s face Bavarians SC on March 3 while the U15s and U17s host Lou Fusz SC on March 3.
