Weekend Recap
Your Aberdeen Wings traveled up to Bismarck for the first time this season last Friday to take on the rival Bobcats. The game was everything we've come to expect out of this series, a close, physical grind of a hockey game. The Wings were able to get a point for the game but eventually fell to Bismarck in a shootout 4-3. The Wings were able to get production from 8 players. Those 8 earning points for the Wings were Heinz Koster (1G), Peter Krieger (1G), Erik Baskin (1G), Tommy Miller (1A), Dylan Daily (1A), Zach Kraft (1A), Kyle Haak (1A) & Tanner Holmquist (1A). The Bobcats were aided by 2 power play goals and scoring the only goal deep into the shootout. In new for the Wings was Paige Skoog who made 36 saves on 39 shots.
Upcoming Events
The Pete Sauer Coach's Show will be this Monday and every Monday throughout the season live from Max & Erma's. If you are unable to make it into Max & Erma's you can tune into 107.7 or click on the radio link (Headphones on the bottom right side of the page) @ aberdeenwings.com . Player guests this week will be Dylan Daily and Zach Kraft. Sign up for Winger's Kids Club at home games throughout the season! Open to all kids ages 3-12. For $40 they get into 10 home games, a free Wingers Kids Club T-Shirt, 5 visits to the sundae bar at Max & Erma's and 2 Monday parties during the coaches show. The Wings will also be participating in floor hockey this Tuesday evening at the YMCA. A special Thanksgiving package is available for home games this Thursday and Friday, you can buy the 2 game package for just $15! Friday the 23 rd bring along your skates and skate with the Wings after the game!
Upcoming Games
This Wednesday the Wings 6-11-1 travel up North to face the Bismarck Bobcats 9-10-1 for a revenge game. The Wings will then travel back home to host the Central Division leading Austin Bruins 15-3-2 Thursday and Friday. Former Aberdeen Wing Cory Ward continued to add to his freshman season stats this weekend collecting an assists and a blocked shot this past weekend as Bemidji fell to Michigan Tech. In 7 games played Freshman Defensemen Ryan Wagner has 5 assists as the Cortland University is off to a 2-5-0 record. Mack Ohnsted is currently 3rd on the Augsburg College team in points with a goal and 2 assists as they currently have a 2-5-0 record. Paul Prescott has 2 goals and 3 assists in 4 games played for Nichols College as they are off to a 4-1-0 record.
