SNAPPING THE SKID:

Aberdeen's 10-1 win on Friday evening snapped a five-game losing skid that dated back to Sunday June 28. Aberdeen improves to 5-9, while earning their first win since a 4-2 decision against Brooklyn on June 27. The bottom end of the order went 5-for-8 with six runs scored and six RBI. Catcher Justin Dalles also recorded his first professional hit with an RBI in the eighth inning.

MORELAND ON FIRE:

Right-hander Kenny Moreland improved to 3-0 after another outstanding performance against Oneonta on June 3. The Springfield, VA native has given up only one earn run in 18.0 innings pitched for the 'Birds. Moreland holds a 0.50 ERA in three contests.

RECORD ATTENDANCE:

Ripken Stadium welcomed another record-breaking crowd on Friday June 3 versus Oneonta. An announced attendance of 6,701 marks the second-best in franchise history. The fourth best attendance of 6,658 was set on June 22 versus Staten Island. The best overall mark was July 3, 2007 when the 'Birds hosted the Brooklyn Cyclones with 6,712 fans in attendance.

TRIPLE THREAT:

The 'Birds recorded a pair of triples in the loss on Thursday. Tom Edwards extended his hit streak to seven games with a triple, going 1-for-4. Lance West also picked up a triple in the third inning, scoring one of the IronBirds two runs. Richard D'Oleo's single extended his hit streak to six games.

FIFTH IN A ROW:

The 'Birds have dropped five games in a row dating back to Sunday June 28. The team will look to get off the snide with a win tonight in the final game of the three-game homestand with Oneonta. These two teams will play again on Saturday with a three-game series at Damaschke Field in Oneonta.

OFFENSE SHUT DOWN:

The Tigers held the 'Birds scoreless for the first time this season on July 1. In two games played in the series, the 'Birsd have been out scored 11-to-2. The game on Wednesday was concluded after seven and a half innings due to heavy rains in the area. Oneonta's 3-0 win was the first time the 'Birds have been shutout since a 4-0 loss to Hudson Valley on July 6, 2008. The Tigers have won four games in a row against Aberdeen, dating back to last season.
