BROADCAST:

Tonight's broadcast can be heard online at www.ironbirdsbaseball.com. Matt Martinez and Russell Luna will call the action with the pre-game show beginning at 6:50 p.m.

A FRESH LOOK:

The Oneonta Tigers will be the first non-McNamara foe the ‘Birds have faced this year. Oneonta (5-4) is currently first place in the NYPL Stedler Division. The ‘Birds were swept August 24-26 at Oneonta. Aberdeen's last series win was on July 29-31 when the IronBirds won two out of three.

RIGHT-HANDED TROUBLES:

Aberdeen has only faced 3 right-handed starters in 11 games. However, the ‘Birds are 0-3 against right-handers, while 4-4 against lefties.

WELCOME HOME:

The ‘Birds begin their second home stand of the year before making a 7-game road trip on Saturday. Aberdeen split their last home series (3-3) after picking up a 4-2 victory over Brooklyn on Saturday.

MOONSHOTS:

Mike Mooney hammered his first professional home run on Tuesday. The infielder is 4-for-11 with a double, triple, a home run, a run scored and 2 RBI in his last two contests.

EXTRAS:

The ‘Birds fell to 1-1 in extra-inning contests with a 4-3 loss on Tuesday. Tuesday evening's game marked the longest game of the season with a mark of 3:41. The ‘Birds defeated Staten Island 4-3 on June 24, 2009 in 10 innings.

TOUGH LOSS:

The ‘Birds surrendered seven runs on in the final three innings as the IronBirds fell to 4-5 on the season. Staten Island out hit the ‘Birds 15-to-7 in Sunday afternoon's contest.

HOME RUN BREAKING:

Aberdeen hammered four home runs in yesterday afternoon's contest to set a new franchise record. The ‘Birds have hit three home runs in five previous games, last occurring on August 7, 2007 at Vermont.

SECOND GO-AROUND:

The Yankees and IronBirds will meet again for the second series of the year. Aberdeen took a 2-1 series victory against the Yanks on June 24. The Yankees are 2-6, while the ‘Birds are 4-4 and currently two games behind first place.
