"The Ball Says It All" - the fun and the funk of the ABA is back and ready to Jam in Jacksonville. the Jacksonville JAM will launch its inaugural season in the 2006-2007 American Basketball Association season. The JAM is ready to establish itself as THE exciting new professional basketball organization that will entertain and delight JAM fans everywhere! The core of this entertainment will be in building an elite team for the City of Jacksonville. If you feel you have the desire and talent to contribute, grow and be part of the excitement that will be JAM basketball, then we are looking for you!
"Our first tryout camp went very well and we had the opportunity to see some good players from the local area. We want to give everyone an opportunity to showcase their skills, but we especially want to give that chance to local Florida players. I do encourage players to come out and show their stuff, so to speak, for everyone that attends our tryout camps will be given a legitimate look. I'm committed to that and so is everyone involved within our Jacksonville Jam Professional Organization," stated Director of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Steve Tucker.
The Jacksonville JAM today announced that they will hold their next Open Player Tryouts on Saturday, July 29th at the UNF Arena located at 4567 St. Johns Bluff Road South - Jacksonville, FL 32224. Sign in starts promptly at 830am. The JAM Open Player Tryout provides desiring players the opportunity to earn a spot for the Jacksonville JAM Training-Veteran camp which begins in October 2006.
The JAM Tryout will be directly by Head Coach Steve Tucker, the JAM staff, and invited professional coaches, trainers and scouts. Space is limited and it is highly recommended that players register early. Players must register online including a $125 registration fee before July 29th. Walk up registration will be permitted if space is available for a registration fee of $175 (cash or money order only) on July 29th. Log onto www.jaxjam.com/tryoutform.html to register today.
