Aaron Davis Returns from IR Tonight in Rapid City

February 25, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Broomfield, Colo. - Rocky Mountain Rage centerman Aaron Davis has been activated from 30-day injured reserve and will return to the line-up tonight on the road against the Rapid City Rush following a 27-game absence.

Davis was leading Rocky Mountain with 12 goals when he was injured on Dec. 26 during a 6-2 win in New Mexico. He remains even with Scott Wray and David Morelli for the team lead with four game-winning goals this season, tying him for second in the CHL at the time of the injury. He is also one of five players with a league-high six-game goal streak this season, which he strung together soon after he was acquired from the Texas Brahmas on Nov. 7. The seventh-year veteran, who was an All-Star last year with the Mississippi RiverKings, has 22 points (12g-10a) in 24 games played this season.

"Aaron was a big part of turning our season around before he got injured, and he's worked hard to come back as strong as possible," said Rage Head Coach and General Manager Tracy Egeland. "We've played well without him, which makes it such a bonus to add a number one centerman back into our line-up at this time of year."

To make room for Davis on the active roster, the club was forced to waive forward Kai Magnussen. In 30 games with the Rage, Magnussen recorded 14 points (5g-9a) and 31 penalty minutes.

Rocky Mountain concludes its season series against the Rush tonight, followed by tilts at Tulsa and Oklahoma City on Friday and Saturday, respectively, to wrap-up a stretch of 12 of 13 away from home. Tonight's live play-by-play action can be seen and heard on the CHL Network at www.rockymountainrage.com beginning at 7 p.m. MST.

The Rage's next home game at Broomfield Event Center is on Thursday, March 5, against the Colorado Eagles at 7:05 p.m. Individual tickets for all of Rocky Mountain's remaining games at the BEC during the month of March are available for as low as $5 for kids 12 and under (with the purchase of at least one adult ticket) and cost just $10 for students with a valid ID.
