A Weekend with the Black Hawks, Presented by John Deere this Friday and Saturday

Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - In early 2022, Waterloo Black Hawks fans chose to celebrate the community's 60th hockey season with a jersey harkening back to historic advertisements from John Deere's iconic tractors.
The scripted "Waterloo" artwork returned again on game jerseys for the 2022/23 and current 2023/24 hockey seasons. On Wednesday, the Black Hawks announced that the nostalgic logo will be reimagined in John Deere's green and yellow for 'A Weekend with the Black Hawks, presented by John Deere' on January 26th and 27th. The unique jerseys Waterloo wears that weekend will be auctioned to benefit the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
"It's appropriate that we have a chance to highlight these colors with a logo inspired by one of the earliest products made by the company here in the Cedar Valley," said Black Hawks President and COO Joe Greene. "Almost two years ago, this was a design that our fans embraced, and I'm sure they will love seeing it in this new iteration."
The stylized Waterloo script was originally the winner during a fan vote for jerseys the team wore during the Hawks' 60th Season celebration on April 2, 2022. Later this month, the logo will return in green, outlined in yellow, on a primarily white jersey. The Waterloo script is accompanied by a Hawk silhouette below the lettering. The uniform includes green and yellow striping wrapped around the waist and sleeves, as well as matching colors on the shoulders. The team's primary logo is re-colored on the top of each shoulder, while John Deere's iconic brand mark appears on the upper right front of the jersey.
Once again, funds raised from a live auction of the Black Hawks' John Deere jerseys will benefit the Northeast Iowa Food Bank (NEIFB). The organization works with non-profits in 16 regional counties to help address food insecurity. Each year, resources passing through the Food Bank help to provide approximately five million meals to those struggling with food insecurity. NEIFB can provide approximately four meals for each dollar donated.
Waterloo's games on Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th are both against the Fargo Force. The Friday game begins at 7:05 p.m.; the Saturday matchup starts at 6:05 p.m. Discounted tickets are available to all John Deere employees joined by their families. To order, call (319) 291-7680 or visit the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at Young Arena.
