Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL have announced that forward Gray Shaneberger has agreed to terms on a contract for the 2004-05 season. Shaneberger is the first free agent acquisition by Bullies Head Coach Matt Thomas this off-season.

Shaneberger, 24, comes to Atlantic City after splitting his rookie season between the Florida Everblades and Cincinnati Cyclones in 2003-04. The 6'4, 210 pound native of Sewell, NJ tallied 13 goals and 24 points in 64 games. After originally signing with Florida, Shaneberger was traded to Cincinnati on March 15 in exchange for all-star defenseman Ryan Brindley.

"Gray is a prototypical power forward in this league with a knack for scoring," said Thomas. "Not only does he give us tremendous size up front, but he's a competitive player who knows what it takes to win."

That winning experience comes from Shaneberger's collegiate career at the University of Maine where he played under Thomas' tutelage from 2000-02. Shaneberger recorded 19 goals and 36 points over 111 games, and helped lead the Black Bears to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a spot in the national championship game in 2002.

Shaneberger is the eighth signing for Thomas. He joins forwards Josh Prudden and Scott Horvath, defensemen Dave Reid, Ian Walterson, Chad Dameworth, and Marc St. Jean, and goaltender Jake Moreland.
