Kingston Frontenacs News Release
To our loyal Fans, Players, Coaches, Billets and Sponsors,
The Kingston Frontenacs regret to inform you that the 2020-2021 season has been cancelled. As David Branch, OHL Commissioner, stated earlier, "The League's goal has always been to get our players back on the ice this season, but only if we could do so safely. We have worked tirelessly with the Province, the Premier, the Minister of Sport and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health on various scenarios that would see a return to play. We have been totally focused and committed on securing a safe return to the ice." Unfortunately, with conditions worsening and the stay at home order being extended, a return to play was not to be. "By the Premier's own admission, Ontario has the toughest restrictions in North America". The Kingston Frontenacs respect this decision which places the safety of our players, coaches and fans, above all.
We look forward to returning for an exciting 2021-2022 season at which point we will celebrate with everyone in a safe and healthy environment.
We wish to thank you for your understanding. We also thank our community leaders including; Mayor Bryan Patterson, Kingston City Council, Lanie Hurdle, city staff, Dr. Kieran Moore and our KFL&A health officials, as well as our front line workers, for keeping our families and community safe.
Stay safe and we will get through this together,
Doug Springer
President and Governor- Kingston Frontenacs
