Chivas USA signs Regan and Helm

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, March 31, 2006) - Chivas USA today announced the addition of defender Tim Regan to the club's 18-man Senior Roster. The club also signed forward Drew Helm, its first-round pick in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft, to the Developmental Roster. Chivas USA is preparing for its Major League Soccer opener versus Real Salt Lake this Sunday, April 2 at 4:00 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center. Regan joins Chivas USA from the MetroStars (now Red Bull New York), where he placed 20 matches during the 2005 season, including 18 as a starter. Regan made his MLS debut for MetroStars on May 3, 2003, against the Colorado Rapids. In 2004 Regan played 12 games for the MetroStars.

Helm, for his part, was selected by Chivas USA with its first pick in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft, on January 26, 2006.

Finally, Chivas USA announced that it waived midfielder Antonio Martínez.
