Rapids Announce 2006 Television Schedule

DENVER, CO (Friday, March 31st, 2006)- The Colorado Rapids announced today the team's 2006 broadcast schedule, which will provide coverage of 23 games. The television coverage of the Rapids' 11th season will be available for fans on Altitude Sports & Entertainment, HDNet, ESPN2 or via the MLS Direct Kick package.
Third year broadcast partner Altitude Sports & Entertainment will air a total of 8 games, culminating with the Rapids' defense of the Rocky Mountain Cup live from Salt Lake City, UT. Colorado will face rivals Real Salt Lake at Rice Eccles Stadium on Saturday, September 2nd, in a match which could determine the winner of the annual trophy.
Seven other games will be broadcast on Altitude throughout the season, including games against the MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Galaxy. The traditional July 4th game, in which the Rapids hold a 9-1-0 all time record, will also be available live on Altitude.
National MLS TV partner HDNet will air a total of five matches, including the 2006 season opener against the Houston Dynamo this Sunday, April 2nd, at 5:30 pm (MT) live from Robertson Stadium.
Both games against Freddy Adu and DC United will be available for Rapids fans to watch. The first one on May 6th at INVESCO Field will be aired live on Altitude and the second one on August 19th at RFK Stadium live on ESPN2.
Single game tickets for the 2006 season are on sale now. Tickets for single games start at only $10 and are available via phone at 303-830-TIXS or online at ColoradoRapids.com. Returning for 2006 will be the Rapids Kids Night promotion, which provides a free ticket for kids 16 and under with the purchase of an adult ticket.
