Raptors 905 (0-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, dropped an 81-105 decision to the Greensboro Swarm (2-3) Saturday evening. The 905 were led by Mouhamadou Gueye who contributed an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double, along with two blocks. Terrell Brown Jr. led Swarm's effort putting up 16 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists in the victory.
Greensboro opened the ball game strong, gaining the upper hand as they outscored the 905 12-4 in the opening minutes. The 905 came out of the timeout strong going on a 16-4 run, however, Greensboro held onto the lead after the first 12 minutes of play. The two teams played a nearly even matched second quarter, with the home side holding onto the seven-point advantage going into the break.
The Swarm took control of the ball game in the third quarter, outscoring the 905 26-15 in the frame. Greensboro continued to build off their momentum in the final frame, extending their lead to as many as 29 points, winning their second straight game.
Makur Maker paced the 905 with an 11-point, 15-rebound double-double, adding four assists, and a block. Amari Bailey added 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists, a steal, and a block coming off the bench for the Swarm.
The Raptors 905 travel to Westchester to take on the Knicks Monday, tip-off slated for 7:00 pm. The Swarm continue their home stand with a two-game series against the Maine Celtics, beginning Wednesday, tip-off at 7:00 pm.
