901 FC Acquires Cameron Lindley on Loan from Orlando City SC
April 12, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL) - Memphis 901 FC News Release
MEMPHIS, Tennessee - Memphis 901 FC has added midfielder Cameron Lindley ahead of its matchup with Nashville SC, the club announced Friday.
Pending league and federation approval, Lindley will join 901 FC's midfield group on loan from Orlando City SC (Major League Soccer).
"I've known Cameron for a while now," 901 FC head coach Tim Mulqueen said. "He has very special qualities in his passing and does a great job of linking our defenders with our midfielders.
"We're going to rely on him during the match to build and sustain attacks."
Lindley is a former Chicago Fire Homegrown Player, moving through the MLS club's youth ranks developing with Fire youth affiliate Indiana Fire Juniors. Lindley is a former USL PDL (now League Two) player having made eight appearances for the Fire's U-23 squad where he scored two goals.
Lindley went onto have a successful career at the University of North Carolina. From 2016-17, Lindley was a standout player for the Tar Heels scoring seven goals in 43 appearances and earned ACC Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year in 2016. The following year, he was named the ACC Midfielder of the Year.
Orlando City SC acquired Lindley's Homegrown rights from the Fire in January 2018 where he made three appearances for the MLS side. He was loaned out to Saint Louis FC for the remainder of the 2018 season before returning to Orlando.
Aside from his club duties, Lindsey has made appearances for the United States Men's National Team at the U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels. He's made a total of 26 appearances for his country.
"Cam is a very good player with superb passing range," 901 FC Sporting Director Andrew Bell said. "He's a strong addition to our squad and we look forward to integrating him into the group."
Lindley's addition comes on the eve of Memphis' rivalry match on the road against Nashville SC. That match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. inside First Tennessee Park.
Memphis returns to AutoZone Park on April 27 to take on the Charleston Battery at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for that match are now on sale.
Season tickets, group tickets, and 7 Match Flex Plans are also available, with full season tickets starting at just $10 per match. Call (901) 721-6000 or go to www.memphis901fc.com/tickets for more information on all ticket options.
