(Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's today announced the trade of defenceman Derek Hartwick who was dealt to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in exchange for the 67's 2nd and 4th round 2011 draft picks, which were previously dealt to Sault St. Marie. For 18 year-old Hartwick, a native of Granton, ON, the trade represents an opportunity to play, by request, in the Western Division.
"Derek played extremely well for us, but he requested a trade to the other division. Sault Ste. Marie, was able to accommodate Derek" said General Manager, Brian Kilrea.
Hartwick dressed for 64 games in Ottawa this season, recording 2 goals and 4 assists.
