67's Hot Start Gives Brown 100th Win as Coach

Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - Decked out in their green St. Patrick's Day barber poles, the Ottawa 67's rode two-goal games from Mathieu Foget and Tye Felhaber to a 5-2 win over the Oshawa Generals.
The 67's win gives head coach and general manager Jeff Brown his 100th victory as an OHL bench boss.
"I didn't even know that," Brown said when asked about his landmark victory. "That's great - I guess it's a good accomplishment."
Fresh of the 67's clinching a playoff berth with a North Bay Battalion loss last night, Brown was happy with his team's performance in today's game, particularly in the first two frames.
"It was good," he said when asked about periods one and two. "I thought we made great plays offensively but we were solid. I thought our guys were supporting the puck and head's up - I was really happy with it."
The 67's put themselves in a position to clinch sixth place in eastern conference with a win tomorrow against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Foget opened the scoring early in the game with a pair of goals for Ottawa. First, he wristed a juicy rebound past Jeremy Brodeur for a 1-0 Ottawa lead. Foget's second goal was off a patient backhand toe-drag, taking advantage of a fortuitous bounce off a Chris Martenet dump-in.
Ottawa would continue their strong scoring in the second, with Tye Felhaber notching two goals of his own. The first came on a rebound, when a sharp angle shot was left dribbling behind Brodeur, and he batted it in at 12:45.
Felhaber took advantage of another misplay by the Generals late in the second, when he picked the puck up off a turnover and sent a laser beam against the grain and into the top corner, making it 4-0 at the end of the second.
Ottawa wasted no time padding their lead in the third. After the powerful Ottawa offence chased Brodeur from the net, Austen Keating took a pass from Artur Tyanulin and deposited it just nine seconds into the third, spoiling backup Kyle Keyser's outing early.
The cushion came in handy for the 67's, as the Generals had an answer in the form of two quick goals in the middle portion of the third.
That's all they would get, however, with Ottawa holding their three-goal lead until the final buzzer and sealing the victory against a potential playoff opponent.
Ottawa wraps up their regular season Sunday afternoon on Fan Appreciation Day, in a date with the Hamilton Bulldogs.
