Ottawa 67's News Release

After playing catch-up to the Saginaw Spirit for the first two periods of yesterday afternoon's game, our Ottawa 67's just couldn't get ahead in the third period. Although our 67's played hard, they were defeated by the Spirit with a final score of 5-2. Despite the loss, cheers could still be heard through the stands until the final seconds of the game, thanks to everyone who came out to support them!

The always-exciting equipment relay found two of our Ottawa 67's fans racing down the ice in hockey gear trying to get the first goal. After a slow start, our winner stole the show when it came down to getting that jersey on and scoring the winning goal. Congratulations Tyler!

Every game, our Ottawa 67's SixO PowerDancers take part in the chicken dance (photographed below). Loved by kids and adults alike, this third period tradition gives us all a good laugh. I bet you're humming the tune in your head just thinking about it. Us too!

Not only does the Urbandale Centre hold great hockey, there's also entertainment for the younger children on the concourse. Some of the options include an extreme sport blow-up obstacle course (making us wish we were short enough to fit the height restriction), as well as an area set up by game sponsor - Rogers, to test your slapshot skills. There's always something to do at the Urbandale Centre during the breaks from great hockey.

Next Friday, our Ottawa 67's will take on the Brampton Battalion. We hope to see you there, where we'll be writing from the stands!
