67's Drop 3-2 Decision

Ottawa 67's News Release
Today's Girl's Rock game kicked off with our Ottawa 67's scoring the first goal of the game within the first minute! Despite the great start, our Ottawa 67's fell short - losing to the Soo Greyhounds 3-2. A burst of energy, prompted by their second goal late in the third period was not enough to claim the win, although we did out-shoot our opponents 33-24.
This afternoon's game was a tribute to women involved in both recreational and competitive sports. We were joined by five female athletes who took part in today's Girls Rock game, beginning with the ceremonial puck drop. They also kept fans busy during the first intermission by being available for a meet and greet.
Thank you Heather Ross McManus - Canadian National Trampoline team, Carolyn Waldo - two-time Olympic gold medalist in synchronized swimming, Lianne Laing - A-Channel sports broadcaster, Jill Perry - two time Canadian boxing champion, and Sally Thomas - power lifter and best of all, Ottawa 67's season ticket holder!
As always there was much more going on at the recently named Urbandale Construction Center than great Ottawa 67's hockey. As another activity focused on women in sports, two female hockey players were chosen to take part in the Equipment Relay, photographed below. It was a close competition, but both were all smiles in the end.
Tickets to an upcoming game were up for grabs during a game of Find Killer Puck during the first intermission. Killer was also a winner today, check out the huge hug he received from the winner, photographed below.
Thanks to everyone who came out today. Next Friday I will be writing to you again from the stands when we take on OHL champions - the Windsor Spitfires!
