
66ers Secure First Home Win of 2012

San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers (6-3) resumed their series with the High Desert Mavericks (6-3) with a 6-5 win, their first home victory of the season. Inland Empire is now tied for the California League Southern Division lead.
The 66ers took the lead for good in the 6th inning on a three run rally sparked by Taylor Lindsey's leadoff double. He would come home on C.J. Cron's RBI single. Andrew Heid followed with an RBI single of his own completing a productive day going 2-3 with a walk along with a stellar defensive play doubling up Maverick Mickey Wiswall on a strong throw to 1stbaseman Jimmy Swift.
Randal Grichuk and Taylor Lindsey were both offensive stars with multi hit games, and Grichuk had a two RBI game as well. Tyler Kehrer was the winning pitcher delivering two scoreless, hitless innings for Inland Empire.
The 66ers will face High Desert for the final time in the series in an early game Sunday with game time at 1:05 pm. Bernie Growth Posters will be given away to the first 1,000 kids 14 and under in attendance. The game can be heard on the home of 66ers baseball KCAA 1050 AM beginning with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Pre-Game show at 12:55 pm.
